EAST PEORIA, IL – The East Peoria Community Foundation received $15,000 to address hunger in East Peoria, as a result of the COVID-19 virus and resulting economic crisis.  These funds are part of Caterpillar Foundation’s $8.5 million commitment to remediate the impact of global COVID-19.  Their generosity is making a huge impact right here at the birthplace of Caterpillar Inc.

The majority of the $15,000 food grant will be funneled through the East Peoria Food Pantry. This grant has meant a lot to the East Peoria Community Foundation and the people of East Peoria, Illinois.  Every dollar will be used directly for the purchase of food for those in need.

For more information on the East Peoria Food Pantry or to find out about food assistance, please contact the East Peoria Food Pantry directly at (309) 699-5417.  They are located at the First United Methodist Church, 154 E. Washington Street, East Peoria, IL 61612.  The Food Pantry is open Mondays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

There has probably never been a greater need for a food pantry in our lifetimes than right now.  The East Peoria Community Foundation is happy to be able to help support our local families as an administrator for the Caterpillar Foundation COVID-19 Grant.
